Billie OS is a privately operated, invite-only personal-assistant service operated from New York. If you have questions about this policy or want to request deletion of your data, contact us at hello@billieos.ai.
What Billie OS is
Billie OS is a private personal-assistant system for invited account holders.
We use information from you and the accounts you choose to connect only to provide and operate Billie OS for you.
What information we access
Google account information
We use basic Google account information, including your email address, for sign-in, identifying your account, and connecting Google services you authorize.
Google Calendar
Billie OS can read calendars from connected Google accounts.
We use calendar information to understand your schedule and availability, identify conflicts, compose your Brief, and support planning inside Billie OS.
Where a connected calendar has write access, when you ask Billie to put an event on your calendar and approve it, Billie OS creates that event on the Google Calendar selected in the approval flow.
Billie OS does not place its internal tasks, planning blocks, rituals, or suggestions onto Google Calendar.
Gmail
Billie OS can read Gmail from connected accounts where you have granted access.
We use Gmail content to help triage mail, identify things that may need your attention, compose your Brief, draft responses, and provide other assistant functions you request.
One connected Gmail account may also grant Billie OS permission to send email. Billie OS sends email from that account only through the service's approval-controlled email flow.
Information you give Billie directly
We store information you provide through Billie OS, including things such as:
* chat messages; * tasks and Loops; * notes; * preferences; * profile information and remembered facts; * reminders and cadences; * planning information.
We use this information so Billie can provide the service and maintain relevant context over time.
Operational information
Billie OS also stores records needed to operate the service, such as action history, Brief state, notification or nudge delivery records, authentication and session information, and other operational records needed to run and maintain the system.
How we use information
We use information to provide Billie OS, including to:
* authenticate you and connect accounts you authorize; * read and understand your schedule; * triage connected email; * generate assistant responses and drafts; * compose your Brief; * maintain tasks, notes, reminders, preferences, and memory; * support planning and scheduling inside Billie OS; * send email you approve from a send-enabled connected account; * operate, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the service.
We do not use your information for advertising, data brokerage, or unrelated commercial profiling.
AI processing
Billie OS uses Anthropic's API to generate assistant responses and perform AI-assisted functions within the service.
Relevant messages, information, and context may be sent to Anthropic when needed to generate a response or perform a Billie OS function.
Billie OS does not use your information to train its own general-purpose AI model. Anthropic does not use Billie OS API inputs or outputs to train its models unless Billie OS explicitly opts in or submits that content as feedback.
Web search
Billie OS uses Tavily to search the web when current external information is needed.
Billie sends Tavily the text of the web-search query Billie generates. A search query may include details from your conversation, including details you ask Billie to look up from connected information. Tavily does not receive direct access to your Gmail or Google Calendar, or bulk mailbox or calendar contents.
Google API data and Limited Use
Billie OS's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google user data is used only to provide user-facing Billie OS functionality.
We do not:
* sell Google user data; * use Google user data for advertising or retargeting; * transfer Google user data to advertising platforms or data brokers; * use Google user data to determine creditworthiness; * use Google user data to train or improve a generalized AI or machine-learning model.
Google user data may be processed by service providers only where necessary to provide or secure Billie OS, or where disclosure is required by law.
Where data is stored
Billie OS currently runs on infrastructure hosted by Fly.io.
Offsite backups are stored using Cloudflare R2.
Information is transmitted over HTTPS.
Administrative access to Billie OS data is limited to the operator of the service.
What we do not do
Billie OS does not sell personal data.
Billie OS does not run advertising.
Billie OS does not use personal data for advertising.
Billie OS does not use analytics or cross-site advertising trackers.
Billie OS uses a session cookie to keep signed-in users authenticated.
Retention and deletion
Billie OS keeps account data while the account remains active unless it is deleted sooner.
You can request deletion of your Billie OS data by contacting hello@billieos.ai.
After primary data is deleted, copies may remain temporarily in backups until they age out of the backup cycle, currently within about 60 days.
Revoking Google access
You can revoke Billie OS's access to your Google Account at any time through your Google Account security settings.
Revoking access prevents Billie OS from making new requests to that Google account. Revoking Google access does not by itself delete information already stored in Billie OS; you can separately request deletion at hello@billieos.ai.
Weekly Google consent
Billie OS currently uses a Google OAuth client in testing mode. Because of that, Google may require connected accounts to renew consent periodically, currently about once a week.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.
